Project: Recycled Power Brazil

In Brazil, 2.7 million batteries are disposed every year, this not only wastes the high value metals available in the cells but also exposes the environment to a potential harm, in the case of landfills, the danger of toxic metals such as nickel, cobalt, copper, lithium and zinc to leach in the ground water, and in the case of incineration, the potential threat of having these same metals propelled into the atmosphere and also the high amount of ash that need to be landfill. These metals are also expected to have an exponential growth in its usage due to the transition to clean energy.
